Chicago’s Very Own Radstarr…

There isn’t a better format to introduce me to an artist than the EP – it’s enough to give me an idea of the artist’s sound, and can leave me salivating for more, if all the pieces came together.  Extended plays have launched amazing relationships with myself and artists – Mellowdrone’s is one; it’s an 11 out of 10. I see the EP format as a sample.  Like when you walk into Binny’s Beverage Depot and test drive the latest potent potable from the 19 year old girl studying marketing.  It’s quick; and now you know its true flavor.  Maybe you’ll score a bottle to take home and explore on your own.  The EP can be that quick pull from the bottle.  Now you know its taste and if you want to develop a relationship with it or not.

I want you to survey a three song collection from the upbeat, popster known as Radstarr.  On the Not That Perfect EP, the experience is a short, simple one, yet an uplifting, melodic experience touching upon life’s purpose, acceptance of one’s faults and nostalgic pasts.  You won’t experience filler; each track soars along thanks to Radstarr’s vocals seamlessly strung together behind strum-driven beats, chugging guitar play, and subtle, yet lively hand claps.  Regardless of your tolerance, Radstarr owns the ability to create an instant buzz and prolong it longer than any sample can even begin to try….

All Binny’s all the time. Funny reference. With regard to the Radstarr EP, I’m looking forward to hearing the polished versions of these songs. Fantastic.
