It it weren’t for this…

Keys

I stumbled upon a few great tracks that I most likely never would have heard if I didn’t spin this essential mix from France’s supposed new sensation, Justice. The mix itself spans close to two hours, with enough rock, electro, disco, and techno to really satisfy anyone’s palate. The purpose of this post is below though….

The Belgian band simply known as Goose has an immediate sound that will compare them to another group from the same area, that being Soulwax. Goose’s track, ‘Bring It On’ has enough bass, dirty synth, snare, and hi-hat to hit the club or just bump on your local stereo.

It’s only appropriate that a French DJ duo would spin some local talent, right? Take ‘Be My Baby’ from French soulstress Vanessa Paradis, who released this song way back in 1992. The track itself is very reminiscent to a Supremes track and could have easily come out of the Motown assembly line 40 years ago. Timeless….

Wow. I’m blown away by that Goose track. Excellent find, man! Have you listened to anything more from them? Real promising stuff.

The Paradis cut reminds me of the drive to Toronto. I remember you throwing that down when you were on the decks. Can’t be faded.
